Bishop-elect Robert H. Alston, Jr.

 

Bishop-elect Robert H. Alston, Jr. was born to late Sheila Lucas and Robert H. Alston, Sr., where he is the second of six children. Robert matriculated through the District of Columbia Public School System graduating from Theodore Roosevelt Senior High School in 1986.
 
Robert was employed with the District of Columbia Park and Recreation Department before being employed by the DC Public School System working with Children with Disabilities until God moved him in 2003. Bishop-elect Alston served as the Dean of Students and Athletic Director for Booker T. Washington Public Charter School in Washington, DC from 2003 until June 2014. Bishop-elect Alston returned to DC Public School where he is currently on of the Deans at Coolidge Senior High School.
 

Robert is married to the lovely Gloria Alston and is the proud father of three children Diamond, Porsche, and Robert III. Robert has been married to his lovely wife for 25 wonderful years.
 
Robert accepted Jesus Christ at a young age and consider himself a today's Jeremiah. He is a member at New Dimension Kingdom Ministries in Washington DC where the pastors are Reginald and Annette Miles. Robert has been a member of NDKM for 18 years where he serves as a Prophet of God; New Dimensions licensed and ordained Rev. Alston in 2002. Robert carries a sharp post modernistic word of God in his mouth.
 

Robert also serves as the President of IAABO referee organization that services all of the Prince George's County Public School System and was elected as president of AFSCME Local 2921 in February 2019 which covers some of the District of Columbia Public School employees.
 
Robert has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Theology in June of 2013 and his Masters of Divinity in June 2014 from Washington Baptist Seminary/Sword of The Spirit Bible Institute.
 
Robert contributes his opportunity to spread the word of the God to the late Bishop James E. Rodgers who licensed him as Director of Youth in 1996.

 

Bishop-elect Robert H. Alston, Jr. was just installed as the 8th Pastor of Thankful Baptist Church on October 13, 2018.

 
Robert is saved, and he loves The Lord with all his heart soul and body.

 

His motto is found in

 

Isaiah 61:1-3  “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
